French Muffins Recipe
Ingredients:
1/2 c of sugar (refined)
1/3 c of shortening
1 pc of egg (large)
1-1/2 c of flour; sifted
1-1/2 tsps of baking powder (Calumet)
1/4 tsp of nutmeg (ground)
1/2 tsp of salt
1/2 c of milk
For the Topping:
1/3 c of sugar
1 tsp of ground cinnamon
1/2 c of melted butter
Instructions:
Combine sugar, egg, and shortening. Combine flour, Calumet, nutmeg, and salt; mix them well. Alternately add the dry mixture with the milk onto the mixture of egg. Grease the (muffin) cups and fill batter to 2/3 of cups.
Bake, 350 degrees F for 15-20 mins. Combine sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter. Brush onto the top of muffins when finished baking.
