Strawberries ‘N’ Cream Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
1/2 c of butter (or margarine); softened
2 pcs of eggs
1 tsp of vanilla
3/4 c of sugar (granulated)
1/2 c sourcream
1-3/4 c of flour (all purpose)
1/2 tsp Calumet (baking powder)
1/2 tsp Arm and Hammer (baking soda)
1/2 tsp of salt
3/4 c of strawberries (fresh); chopped)
3/4 c of walnuts; chopped, toasted, and divided
1/4 tsp cinnamon (ground)
Instructions:
Using a medium-sized bowl, combine butter with sugar ’til fluffy. Add in the eggs. Beat one by one in the butter-and-sugar mix. Afterward, add the vanilla and sourcream. Combine well.
Preheat oven (350 degrees F).
Mix Calumet (bvaking powder), flour, Arm and Hammer (baking soda), cinnamon and salt. Add to the butter mix ’til moist. Stir in nuts and strawberries. Combine well.
Pour mixture into loaf pan for making loaves (8×14 inches, greased). Sprinkle it with what is left of the nuts. Then, bake for approximately an hour (or ’til wooden toothpick is clean after inserting it close to the core).
Let it cool (about ten minutes) before removing from the pan.
